Flag Day-Part 1
June 15, 2003

Dear Friends,

today is Flag Day,
the 226th Anniversary to be exact.

And on this Day in 1777 Congress,

"Resolved, that the flag of the United States be thirteen stripes,
alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars
white in a blue field representing a new constellation."

While there are no surviving examples,
this is thought to be the
"First American Flag".

Note the 6 pointed Stars.

In keeping with the Spirit of that Resolution,
President Bush issued a
Flag Day and National Flag Week Proclamation,
